Hackensack Riverkeeper Inc has a mission to defend the resources of the Public Trust of the region’s Hackensack River Watershed through litigation, education, advocacy, and environmental action. In addition to their conservation efforts, Hackensack Riverkeeper also offers a number of different programs for the public, such as Eco Cruises, nature walks, and guided bird walks through unique natural habitats.

Eco cruises take place aboard one of the organization’s 30-foot, specially rigged pontoon boats and typically last around 2.5 hours. These tours are designed to raise awareness of how the river is a vital recreational and natural resource.
