What are the best destinations for kids?

When I travel with my kids—whether it’s a baby, toddler, or teen—I know how important it is to choose the right destination. You might love places like Venice as a romantic escape, but I’ve learned firsthand that pushing a stroller onto a vaporetto can quickly turn the trip into a juggling act. I want you to have fun—not frustration.

How can I choose a kid-friendly vacation spot?

If your kids are anything like mine, they won’t stay quiet if they’re bored. That’s why I always look for places with activities that match their age and energy level. You might want to consider:

  • I love taking them to amusement parks where rides and shows keep everyone excited.
  • If your family enjoys the beach, go for a destination with watersports—you’ll all stay entertained for hours.
  • Sometimes, a walkable town center makes all the difference. I’ve found that cities with plenty to see (and snack on) are a win for everyone.

What should I consider when traveling with multiple generations?

When I plan a trip with grandparents or great-grandparents, I always think about the travel time. You don’t want to start your vacation with three long flights and a layover. I suggest choosing a destination that’s easier to reach—it keeps costs down and helps everyone arrive in good spirits, ready to enjoy the trip together.
