The Washington Opera House in the small city of Maysville, Kentucky is a historic theatre venue that dates back to February of 1885. This historic opera house opened on February 12th with a performance of Fatinitza presented by the Amy Gordon Opera Company, and the venue soon became a center of the community and culture.

The Maysville Players , the Commonwealth’s oldest theatre group, bought the Washington Opera House in 1968. Still producing exceptional performances, the opera house today is the fifth oldest theatre in the United States remaining in operation and is listed on the National Register of Historical Buildings.
