Tucked away behind St. Joseph’s church on Rue St Martin in a grand old stone rectory built in 1861, Candide is a small, hidden gem that serves an evolving farm-to-table cuisine and casual wines in a warm, intimate setting. The cozy, brick-walled features chic décor with Nordic-style wood accents, sumptuous green leather banquettes, and a lush green terrace and covered patio overlooking peaceful pedestrian street for alfresco summer dining.
A monthly-changing four-course prix fixe menu created by Chef John Winter-Russell highlights his passion for local, seasonal, and temporal cuisine with plant-based dishes featuring market-driven ingredients like zucchini flowers, asparagus, sturgeon, radishes, lovage, pork, and peas.
A full-service bar serves a range of fine wines from around the globe, local and imported beers on tap and by the bottle, and classic cocktails made with top-shelf spirits. Candide is open for dinner, Wednesday through Saturday.
