Tecolote Community Park and Recreation Center is a neighborhood park and community center constructed at the site of one of San Diego's most popular motorcycle racing districts, which was nationally renowned throughout the 1920s and 1930s. Following the land's use as a dairy farm throughout the mid-20th century, the park's lands were deeded to the City of San Diego for use as a public youth baseball field. Today, the park spans 7.8 acres and offers five public day-use baseball fields, which may be rented for private use by community sporting groups and organizations. A flag football field is also offered at the park, along with basketball courts and day-use picnic sites. Special event programming includes children's art classes and teen and youth group special events.
