Review & FAQ:
Perched on a hill overlooking the city, the Temple of Osios David was built in the 5th century and is now one of Thessaloniki's best kept secrets.
Over the years, it has served as a mosque and as part of a monastery, but it's now a Greek Orthodox church. Although it's a bit outside the city center, it's well worth the effort it takes to get there, both for the stunning views and the simple but beautiful Byzantine interior, which is decorated with magnificent frescoes and mosaics that were done between the 12th and 14th centuries.
