Review:

Discovered during archaeological excavations in the 1960s, the Roman Forum was the heart of the city's public and political life during Ancient Roman times.

Experts believe it was constructed in the late 1st century A.D., and it consisted of a large rectangular area surrounded with beautiful pillars and impressive buildings. Many of the areas are still being uncovered, but visitors will be able to see pieces of elaborate Corinthian columns and mosaic floors as well as the restored amphitheater, which is still sometimes used to host concerts and special events. There is also an underground museum that can be visited for a small fee.
