Review:

The birthplace of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, the Ataturk Museum is a fascinating destination for anyone interested in 20th-century history.

The building was converted into a house museum in 1953, and visitors can explore all three stories free of charge. The highlight of the home is the room where Atatürk was born, but other points of interest include the elegant first floor reception room and the beautiful courtyard, which features a pomegranate tree planted by Atatürk's father. Most of the original furniture remains, and the many of the rooms display interesting artifacts from when the family lived in the home.
