Review:

The Pheasant is a refined French-American restaurant in Dennis, opened to the public in 2008 by restaurateurs Eric and Adam Dunn. The restaurant, which is open seasonally between spring and late autumn, is housed within a 200-year-old renovated barn and showcases seasonally-changing menus prepared from scratch by executive chef Toby Hill, including entrees prepared with sustainably-caught New England seafood. Classy entrees include Moroccan-spiced lamb ragout, dry-aged sirloin with apple cider-glazed turnips, and brick half-chicken with lemon-roasted brussels sprouts and maple sauce. A full local raw bar is also offered, along with shareables such as raclette fondue, bluefish pate, and charcoal-grilled maitake mushrooms. Locally-sourced Snowy Owl coffee and Captain's Daughter teas are available to complement all meals.
