Strouds Run State Park features a little over 2,600 acres of undisturbed hardwood forest that drapes over the various coves and hills of the park. The jagged terrain and picturesque lake offer visitors a one-of-a-kind wilderness escape in the southeastern region of Ohio. Only boats with a maximum horsepower of 10 are permitted on the roughly 160-acre Dow Lake. Largemouth bass, channel catfish, rainbow trout, and crappie are the prominent fish species here. There is a 900-foot sand beach located on the lake's east side for swimmers and scuba diving as well as six trails for hiking, fifteen for mountain biking, and ten horseback riding trails.
