Grand Lake at St. Marys was once the largest manmade reservoir in the world at 13,500 acres. Its original purpose was as a feeder lake to the Miami-Erie Canal. Today, it accommodates unlimited horsepower boats, although there is a 300-foot no-wake zone along the 52 miles of shoreline. The lake features four public swim beaches, and nine public boat launches. Anglers will appreciate the variety of fish, including bass, crappies, bluegills, walleye, perch, bullheads, and others. The lake has two ADA accessible fishing areas on the east and west banks. Visitors will also find mini-golf, basketball and volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, bike rentals, a nature center, and two dog parks.
