The quiet waters of 93-acre Findley Lake accommodate motorboats with electric motors only, along with rowboats, canoes, and kayaks, to preserve the lake's natural ambiance. The 435-foot swim beach offers beachgoers concessions near designated swim areas. The state park is a heavily wooded area of regrowth secondary forest on former farmland. Surrounding the park is Ohio dairy land where cows and crops are common sights. About 16 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails weave throughout the park where nature lovers can see towering pines, a variety of hardwood trees, woodland wildflowers, and perhaps a white-tailed deer, red fox, or other animals. Findley State Park is also a butterfly sanctuary for rare Duke's skipper butterflies.
