Burr Oak Lake and State Park are located in a remote area of southeastern Ohio. The lake was created by the Tom Jenkins Dam across Sunday Creek in 1950. Naturalists and those who are drawn to wilderness areas will love Burr Oak. It is situated in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, and visitors might see wild turkey, white-tailed deer, and grouse, as well as lakeshore waterfowl and beaver. There are four boat launches providing access to the 664-acre lake. Visitors will also have fun playing at an 18-hole disc golf course (BYOD); fishing Burr Oak Lake for bass, bluegill, and crappie; swimming; playing volleyball; picnicking; and hiking seven park trails.
