Once an Ohio canal system feeder lake, 3,100-acre . Buckeye Lake is also home to Ohio's oldest park, Buckeye Lake State Park. The park has been a vacation hot spot for decades with numerous recreational opportunities like swimming, boating, water skiing, and fishing. The lake is one of few that are designated an unlimited horsepower lake, but visitors will also find canoes, rowboats, kayaks, pontoons, and sailboats. There are nine launch ramps and 135 dock rentals. Buckeye Lake features three public beaches that are open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Anglers will appreciate abundant fishing, especially for crappies and bass. The park also has four picnic areas with grills, three shelters, and a playground.
