Tucked away in southern Vermont, The Bennington Museum showcases an excellent collection historical Vermont artifacts and local artwork, including the world's largest collection of paintings by the renowned artist Grandma Moses. Most of the exhibits are hands-off, but kids can play to their hearts' content in the Grandma Moses Schoolhouse, which offers board games, old toys, and period clothing perfect for dress-up. If you want to spend some time outdoors, the museum also operates a beautiful interpretive wildflower trail and a 14-mile driving loop that tours the most significant sites from the Battle of Bennington.
