Stirling Castle is one of the largest castles in Scotland, and it also has tremendous historical importance. The castle is perched on top of Castle Hill and surrounded by steep cliffs on three sides, making it an ideal fortress. There are plenty of things to see, including an exhibition dedicated to the castle's history, the Stirling Heads gallery, the great hall, the kitchen, and the chapel. A vault below the palace houses interactive displays aimed at children. Visitors should note that admission tickets to the castle also include a complimentary tour of the nearby townhouse known as Argyll’s Lodging.
