Thanks in part to the space it occupies in the Edinburgh skyline, Edinburgh Castle is the most easily recognizable castle in Scotland. Many additions have been made to the castle over the years, but the oldest part is St Margaret's Chapel, which dates all the way back to the 12th century. Audio tours are available in eight different languages, and guided tours led by the castle stewards are included in the price of admission. The castle is located at the top of a steep slope, but a courtesy vehicle is available to take visitors with disabilities to the top.
