Constructed in the 13th century, Inverlochy Old Castle has not undergone very many modifications since it was first built and is now in a state of ruin after being abandoned in 1654. However, the site is well worth a visit for anyone interested in learning about its history, including its involvement in the first and second battles of Inverlochy. Visitors can also marvel at the unaltered architecture of the ancient towers and courtyard. The castle is located only a mile away from Fort William, making it easy to access the site by foot or bicycle as well as by car.
