Nestled along the shore of Loch Fyne, the longest sea loch in Scotland, Inveraray Castle has been the seat of the Dukes of Argyll since the 18th century. The estate is still occupied by the 13th Duke and his family, but the unoccupied rooms are open to the public. The dining and drawing rooms contain beautiful custom-made French tapestries, and the Armory Hall is home to more than 1,300 weapons, including pikes, broadswords, and axes. Visitors can also stroll through the castle gardens, enjoy some light refreshments in the teahouse, and purchase traditional Scottish souvenirs at the gift shop.
