Voyageurs National Park near International Falls, Minnesota is a water-based national park, encompassing a little more than 218 thousand acres and over one-third of that being water. Four large lakes, along with twenty-six smaller lakes, make up the park, with sightseeing possible by kayak, canoe, or motorboat. Other outdoor recreation activities possible at Voyageurs National Park include hiking along over twenty-seven miles of hiking trails, fishing, and swimming. Ranger-led summer programs are available from the middle of June to the middle of September. During winter, visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling on over 110 miles, and ice fishing.
