The Bakken Museum strives to inspire passion for innovation among the public through exploration into the potential for the humanities, technology, and science to create a better world. This museum is the only Smithsonian-Affiliate in the state of Minnesota and is home to a collection of artifacts and books renowned worldwide, the Florence Bakken Medicinal Garden, and several galleries that focus on the wonders of science, bio-technology, plant medicine, and invention. The Bakken Museum lets visitors experience the shock of a century-old electricity machine, experience an immersive object theater, test static electricity experiments created by Ben Franklin, and much more.
