Formerly called Ironworld, the Minnesota Discovery Center is dedicated to preserving the history of the Iron Range and does so through special events, traveling exhibits, and a variety of museum displays. Located in the city of Chisholm, Minnesota, the center was established during the 1970’s in order to celebrate the several ethnicities in Minnesota’s Iron Range that came together to mine the largest body of iron ore in the country. The facility is now a center for community connections, arts, and music. The Heritage Park at the Minnesota Discovery Center includes historically recreated and historic dwellings and a 19-hole miniature golf course.
