The Paul Bunyan State Trail is a 120-mile long bike trail, making it the longest state trail and bike trail in Minnesota, connecting the Cuyuna State Trail, the Blue Ox Trail, and the Heartland Trail. The trail is also known to be the country’s longest continuously paved rail-trail, extending from Lake Bemidji State Park to Crow Wing State Park. The Paul Bunyan State Trail is almost an entirely continuous trail, but includes a few short on-road connections running the cities of Bemidji and Baxter. The two state parks at either end provide a good starting point for families.
