Review:
Echternach is the oldest town in Luxembourg and one of Europe’s earliest cultural centers. This medieval city is most notably known for its monumental ancient architecture such as the Roman Villa, the Roman Basilica, the Peter and Paul Parish Church, and the Rococo Pavilion. It is also a natural oasis nestled within the beautiful Mullerthal Region, featuring several amazing hiking opportunities that include the Mullerthal Trail and Gorge des Loups (the wolves’ canyon). Additional outdoor activities such as biking along the River Sure, paddling excursions on the lake, and the outdoor park Adventure Island offer plenty of family fun. Various museums, dancing processionals, guided tours, and music festivals add to the city’s attractions.
