The Chateau Bourscheid is an impressive castle of just under 40,000 square feet originally constructed in the year 1000. The first lord of the castle was Bertram of Bourscheid mentioned in the year 1095. This massive palace is located on a secluded promontory and can only be accessed from the northwest, as it rests just under 500 feet above the River Sure. It is completely surrounded by a grand ring wall equipped with 11 watchtowers. Visitors can choose either a 1-hour, 1.5-hour, or 2-hour tour of these remarkable grounds, learning all about its rich history. As an added bonus, visitors are welcome to hike through the extraordinary woodlands of the Oesling.
