Review:
Wasserbillig is a small modern town in the municipality of Mertert in Luxembourg. It’s a border town separated from Oberbillig, Germany by the Moselle River. There are an inordinate number of gas stations along the main road through town because of its proximity to Germany. Many Germans cross the border here for gasoline, cigarettes, coffee, and chocolate that they can purchase at lower prices. Wasserbillig’s highlight is the Wasserbillig Aquarium overlooking the Sauer River. The aquarium has 15 tanks that range from about 80 gallons to over 10,000 gallons and showcase fish from all over the world. Other attractions include walking and biking paths along Moselle River and countryside vineyards.
