Skidaway Island State Park is a sprawling state park that is located near downtown Savannah, Georgia.
This state park borders the Skidaway narrows, which are part of Georgia’s Intracoastal Waterway.
Scenic trails wind their way through salt marsh and maritime forests, leading visitors to a boardwalk with an observation tower. All around the park, visitors will have the opportunity to see egrets, fiddler crabs, raccoon, deer, and other wildlife species.
The park features an interpretive center where birders will find reference books, binoculars, and a window for viewing migrating species like the Painted Buntings. Kids really love seeing the reptile room and the towering, 20-foot ground sloth replica.
