Located in Elkton, Virginia, the Loft Mountain Campground is situated around mile 79 along Skyline Drive and is the Shenandoah National Park’s largest campground. Set on top of Big Flat Mountain, the campground boasts spectacular vistas to the west and to the east. With views of the Virginia Piedmont, the Shenandoah Valley, and the Blue Ridge Mountains, the campground doesn’t disappoint. Trails leading into the park’s Big Run Wilderness area and two waterfalls are also within close proximity to the Loft Mountain Campground. There is plenty of wildlife to see and wilderness to explore for campers of all ages.
