Review:

Sognsvann Lake is a small lake within the Oslo city limits, only about three kilometers in diameter, very popular with the locals for a weekend break and some fresh air on the water. The area around the lake is used for camping, picnicking, hiking, and cross-country skiing, depending on the season. While great for fishing and swimming in the summer, once the lake freezes in the winter it becomes a skating rink.

There is a beautiful scenic trail all around the lake, about three kilometers long, popular for jogging, well-lit and wheelchair-accessible. Bikes are prohibited due to overcrowding. The Lake and the forested area around it can get crowded during the summer because the access by public transport is so easy. Nearby is another smaller lake called the Black Pool, famous for its nudist beach.
