St James’s Park is a 23-hectare park at the southernmost tip of the St James's area in central London that offers a beautiful green urban space for the public in the heart of the city. Named after a leper hospital dedicated to St James the Less, the park is bordered by some of London’s top attractions such as the Horse Guards, Buckingham Palace, the Mall, and Birdcage Walk. The park is home to St James's Park Lake and two islands, namely West Island and Duck Island, which are named the flocks of waterfowl that call the lake home. The lake is spanned by the Blue Bridge, which affords charming views of Buckingham Palace framed by trees.
