The Milwaukee County Zoo is a 190-acre animal sanctuary that is home to over 3,100 mammals, amphibians, birds, fish, and reptiles in specialized habitats. Established in 1892, the zoo has been hailed as one of the country’s most beautiful zoological attractions and features several outstanding exhibits, including Taylor Family Humboldt Penguins, the Herb, and Nada Mahler Family Aviary, Sterns Family Apes of Africa, Primates of the World, and Macaque Island. Visitors can explore the zoo on a fun safari train ride, and the zoo offers a range of educational programs, summer camps, and workshops throughout the year.
