Cave of The Mounds is a natural limestone cave and National Natural Landmark near Blue Mounds that features a spectacular array of mineral formations called speleothems. Visitors can explore the caves on guided daily tours on paved, lighted walkways that showcase the natural beauty of the geologic wonder and its colorful crystal formations. The caves have a constant 50-degree temperature throughout the year, making it pleasant for visitors to experience the crystallized rock formations, stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and shimmering pools. Other attractions include a gemstone mine, a fossil dig, hiking and biking trails, butterfly gardens, a picnic area, and a gift shop.
