The Alchemist Stowe is a family-run brewery that specializes in producing unfiltered and fresh IPAs. It opened as a 60-seat brew pub in Waterbury in 2003, which led to a small production brewery. There are now two Vermont breweries from the Alchemist and local distributions. Waterbury has 15 barrels and a canning line while the Stowe location opened in July 2016 with the goal of being low-impact. Stowe is where Alchemist produces their Focal Banger, which was their second year-round brew. They also produce rotating seasonal beers at this location. Some past brews include American IPAs, Belgian-inspired ales, summer Saisons, American pale ales, American double IPAs, dark IPAs, American imperial stouts, Belgian style Saisons, Alchambic sour ales, American ales, American red ales, American blonde ales, porters, American sour ales, Belgian-style double wits, and Belgian-style dubbels. You will find the Visitor’s Center in Stowe with tastings, retail sales, merchandise, and an educational, fun experience. The Visitor’s Center is family-friendly and dog-friendly. It is open on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11 am to 7 pm or you can buy their canned brews throughout the area.
