Review & FAQ:

Locally known as the SMK (Statens Museum for Kunst), the National Gallery Denmark is one of six museums located in the Park Museums District in the heart of Copenhagen. The museum is Denmark’s largest art museum and is an absolute must on the itinerary for all art lovers. You will be able to admire several permanent exhibitions spanning seven centuries and including works by some of the world’s most famous artists, such as Rubens, Matisse, Munch, and many more. In addition to the illustrious permanent collection, the museum also hosts regular visiting exhibitions by up-and-coming artists and established contemporary artists. Other museums in the district include the Rosenborg Castle and the Natural History Museum of Denmark – if you plan to visit more than one of the Park Museums you can buy a combined ticket at a reduced price.
