Review:

Restaurant Mateu first opened its doors in 1968 as a small family-run eatery which prided itself on serving authentic traditional Valencian cuisine. Dishes included paella, allipebre (fragrant and succulent eel cooked with potatoes, garlic and paprika) and fresh fish cooked in a salt crust. Today you will still find all these iconic Valencian dishes on the menu, accompanied by a wide selection of other delectable seafood, fish, meat, and rice dishes. Vegetarians will also find plenty to enjoy. The wine menu features a good selection of Spanish wines for you to savor alongside your meal. Although this restaurant is located a short distance from the center of Valencia it is well worth a visit.
