When you visit Casa Carmela (House of Carmela) you get the chance to sample the essence of Mediterranean culture and cuisine. For nearly 100 years (since 1922) this restaurant has been preparing traditional Valencian paella and other seafood specialties. Today fourth-generation descendants of the founders still prepare their paella exactly like Dona Carmen used to do. The dish is cooked over an orange-wood fire using only locally available fish, seafood and garden produce. The fragrant dish is placed in the center of your table and guests serve themselves using a wooden spoon. Experiencing this celebration of Valencian culture is a true gastronomic delight.
