Sami is the most historic and largest port in Cephalonia, which makes it the obvious place to establish a museum to celebrate and showcase the amazing nautical history of the island. For many centuries the port has welcomed mariners from all corners and has been the departure point for thousands of voyages, both exploratory and commercial. The museum is home to 24 meticulously made model vessels, which cover a period of more than 3 thousand years. Strangely, there is also a 4mt replica of the Titanic, which seems a little out of place. The museum is open daily by appointment.
