The Memory and Tolerance Museum is dedicated to the remembrance of victims of genocide around the world. The museum has permanent “Memory” exhibits that recount crimes against humanity in the Holocaust, Armenia, former Yugoslavia, Rwanda, Cambodia, Guatemala, and Darfur genocides. The museum’s other purpose is to teach tolerance. The “Tolerance” permanent exhibit tackles tolerance, human rights, discrimination, diversity, and other topics in numerous rooms, culminating with the Commitment and Indifference Room. In all, there are 55 halls to view. There is a section of the museum dedicated specifically to LGBT tolerance. Temporary exhibits have focused on such subjects as the Torreón massacre of Chinese residents as well as migrants and refugees, Mexican femicide, and others.
