La Cantina Winery is a charming traditional Italian-style winery, founded following its owners' family move from Santa Maria del Molise, Italy to Franklin, Massachusetts in the 1960s. The winery, which began as an amateur home winemaking enterprise in 1963, has expanded into one of the Cape Cod region's premiere traditional commercial wineries today. High-quality traditional varietals are sold throughout the year, including favorites such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Sangiovese, and Malbec. Guests can taste up to five wines at the company's public tasting room for a nominal fee, served up in a complimentary take-home branded wine glass. Wines are also available by the glass or by the bottle for takeout or drinking at the company's tasting room. Traditional Italian-style winemaking classes teach participants about the winemaking process from fermentation to bottling, producing shareable co-op bottles of wine for drinking with the class at the end of courses.
