Black Birch Vineyard is a charming boutique winery in Hatfield, originally founded in 2012. The award-winning winery moved to its current location in 2017 to utilize a 12-acre patch of Connecticut River Valley soil, which cultivates more than 19,000 vines of 10 fine grape varietals. The company's delicious white and red wines have received gold and double gold medals at major regional wine competitions, including the Big E Northeast Gold Wine Competition and the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. Guests can taste wines Tuesdays through Saturdays at the company's public tasting room facility, which is also open for group tastings with advance reservations. Winery tours are offered with appointment on Sunday afternoons. Special events throughout the year include Saturday evening wine and food pairing experiences, which work with local chefs and producers to create culinary experiences.
