Shabbona Lake State Park is a 1,550-acre recreational area in Shabbona Township, DeKalb County, Illinois that features a human-made lake that was formed in 1975 by damming the Indian Creek. Named after the Potawatomi leader Shabbona, the park is home to the Shabbona Lake State Park Campground, which is nestled in a semi-wooded area with premium campsites boasting gravel parking spaces, fire rings, and water, electricity, and sewerage hookups. Facilities in the campground include bathrooms with showers, hot running water and flush toilets, a children’s playground, a boat launch, and a safe fishing area for kids.
