Review:

Housed inside the elegant former residence of steamship businessman William Scarbrough, the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum is another excellent place to learn about the maritime side of Georgia's history. The impressive collection includes model ships, antiques, and paintings that tell the story of maritime travel during the 18th and 19th centuries, and although the museum is primarily set up for self-guided tours, special educational programs for kids are sometimes offered. After exploring the museum, visitors can also browse the gift shop or spend some time in the two acres of beautiful gardens surrounding the mansion.
