The Robert J Huckshorn Arboretum, located on the Jupiter campus of Florida Atlantic University, provides local community with a unique opportunity to explore the connection between humans and their natural environment. The Arboretum highlights Florida diverse ecosystems by growing native trees and shrubs. There are trails that wind their way through the landscape, inviting exploration and enjoyment of this peaceful oasis. Benches are scattered around, allowing visitors opportunity to sit down and take pleasure in a rare moment of solitude in the normally hectic daily lives. Signs throughout the Arboretum identify the native trees and shrubs with their common and scientific names. It is great place for teachers and students to retreat from the traditional classroom setting, offering learning experience in an unique, pleasant setting.
