Continental Divide Winery produces all of their wines in a custom state-of-the-art winemaking facility in South Park (Fairplay) at the altitude of10,000 feet, making it the world’s highest altitude winery. Such high altitudes minimize oxygen exposure during crafting and aging wines, which brings forward the true flavors of the fruit. Using a patented winemaking system in an almost zero oxygen closed-cell environment for the wine production further capitalizes on the high altitude location. The winery also uses snow and the extreme temperatures to control fermentation instead of commonly used artificial mechanical cooling. They have two tasting rooms, in Breckenridge and South Park (Fairplay).
