Review:
Founded in 1996, the Wildlife Research Center is a non-profit organization that conducts research and provides education about the wildlife and habitat of Ramona Valley as well as the neighboring counties. While the Wildlife Research Center spearheads several efforts, it is best known for successfully saving the Ramona Grasslands. In fact, the center purchased 7,000 acres of grasslands in partnership with the San Diego County and The Nature Conservancy in order to rehabilitate and protect the dwindling raptor population in the area. Other animals being protected by the Wildlife Research Center include the Burrowing Owl, migrant geese, snow geese and ferruginous hawks.
