Review:

San Diego is known for being home to several lovely reservoirs and dams, but the Sutherland Dam is arguably one of the most remarkable ones the county has ever seen. The dam is about 10 miles away from downtown Ramona and has 5.25-mile shoreline. What’s so special about a dam, you might ask. For the Sutherland Dam, the unique and dramatic architecture alone is worth the drive. Another draw is the short hike that takes visitors from a small dirt turnout by the side of the road to the top of the dam. The hike features a long dirt paths and some stairs cases, which will take you to the top of the damn and around some of the dam’s best features.
