The beautiful Talladega National Forest is an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The forest has several primitive camping areas as well as two RV campgrounds where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The first campground is located on Coleman Lake and has been described above. The second campground is located in the Payne Lake Recreation Area and offers visitors 76 attractive developed camp sites along the edge of the lake. This part of the forest is open to the public all year round and you can spend some blissful days enjoying hiking trails, boating, fishing and swimming.
