The Kettle Moraine State Forest Southern Unit is situated near Lake Michigan and features one of the largest outdoor displays of rural life in the United States. While here, visitors can view historic log cabins built by immigrants back in the 1800s. In addition to its historical sites, the state forest also has many trails which vary in their scenery and elevations. There is also a Natural History Museum which tells more behind the history of the area with a few hands-on exhibits.
