Prasonisi is a tidal island off the southern coast of Rhodes that is joined to the mainland by a long sandbar that completely disappears at high tide, leaving the island stranded.

Located on the southernmost point of the island, the little island, which means ‘green island’ in Greek is exposed to stiff seasonal sea breezes and offers world-class kite surfing and windsurfing. The tidal island is home to the Prasonisi Lighthouse, water-sports schools, a few chic guesthouses, and several surfer bars and rustic tavernas overlooking the sea.
