For a relaxing day trip with a difference you can spend a few hours touring the scenic River Havel and Lakes which surround Berlin. There are several options for a day cruise on the river starting either at Potsdam or Pfaueninsel on the Wannsee. Usually you will spend between 2 and 3 hours on the river and some operators offer the choice of stopping in a scenic area and exploring by bicycle. As you drift past the beautiful towns and villages along the Havel River you will see many of the regions most prominent landmarks including castles, island towns and much more. En-route you can sip a great German beer (or two), eat some wurst (sausage) and soak up the atmosphere.
